The White African

The White African photo

According to Wikipidia a White African is a person of European descent living in Africa. According to me, a White African is the African version of a White Russian, which is a cocktail made from milk, vodka and coffee liqueur.

So what’s the difference between the two? Well firstly, my version of this cocktail is much taster that the Russian one. Instead of using vodka, I decided to use the famous African Spirit, Amarula. Instead of making us of Russia’s national drink, vodka, I replaced it with the African counterpart. The Amarula brand has come a long way since it was launched back in 1997 and remains my old time favourite cream liqueur. I also replaced the coffee liqueur with a dash of Frangelico, as we’re all a bit nuts down here in Africa. Crushed ice, milk and a tumbler completed my concoction and the only thing missing is a sandy beach and the perfect sunset. Dasvidaniya White Russian!

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of Amarula
  • 1/2 shot Frangelico
  • 150ml milk
  • crushed ice
  • Flake sprinkles

Shake up 2 shots of Amarula, 1/2 shot Frangelico, 150ml milk and crushed ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour into a glass tumbler, sprinkle with Flake and enjoy!
