1 Thrift - Goodbye fillet steak and posh single estate vintage risotto rice. With yet another recession straining at the Chancellor’s leash, even the well-heeled will be practicing inconspicuous consumption rather than look flash. Any belt tightening will be strictly metaphorical though, as the likes of steaming pearl barley broths laden with Northern cavolo nero (kale to you and me) and unctuous slow cooked ox cheeks (as pictured) become the order of the day.
