Leopard’s Leap unveils its stunning new culinary and wine-tasting centre
One of South Africa’s most popular wine brands launched its brand spanking new wine tasting centre to the media and VIP guests last week. Leopard’s Leap can now show-off their palate-friendly wines to their loyal fans and wine lovers.
Wine-based cocktails, made from the various wines in the Leopard’s Leap range, welcomed guests as they stepped onto the green, lawn-like carpet, leading to the main entrance.
CEO of Leopard’s Leap Wines, Hein Koegelenberg and his wife Hannelie Rupert, welcomed guests as they entered the spacious and well designed wine tasting and culinary centre.
Following the brand’s astounding success over the past five years, Hein decided to take Leopard’s Leap Wines to the next level. For this reason they have broadened their horizons and, at the same time, created a new home where visitors with a keen interest in wine and food can get close to the brand, its identity and most important passions, wine, food, conservation and literature.
Hein and his team achieved all their goals and more. The jaw-dropping architectural design along with the well utilized in and outdoor space make for some remarkable eye candy.
The interior was design by Christo Barnard. Lively colours and relaxing furniture design was chosen to create a sociable setting on the big patio overlooking the vineyards.
Some guests soaked up the last bit of sun while they sipped on the deliciously refreshing Leopard’s Leap cocktails and wines.
And others enjoyed the warm and homely inside along with the much enjoyable wines.
What makes the concept behind the tasting center different from any other wine establishment in South Africa, is the collaboration between Leopard’s Leap Wines and Liam Tomlin Food. Visitors can expect an innovative and exceptional food-and-wine experience. Liam’s Culinary Studio offers food enthusiasts an ongoing series of hands-on classes and demonstrated chefs table lunches. There’s also a Culinary Store that offers a large variety of internationally renowned kitchen equipment and appliances as well as a whole lot of books on specialised cooking.
Guests attending the opening ceremony were treated to a taste of Tomlin’s culinary expertise.
Whether you visit the Leapord’s Leap wine-tasting center to enjoy the versatile range of Leopard’s Leap wines or get your hands dirty in Liam’s culinary kitchen, you are in for a real treat. It caters to every wine and food lovers heart desire and is indeed a great addition to the Franschhoek wine valley.
Leopard’s Leap Tasting Room is open from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 – 17:00. Tastings are charged at R30 for eight wines and R35 for a tutored group tasting.
