Rickety Bridge The Foundation Stone 2010 was named as one of the TOP 100 SA WINES for 2012 and also scooped a Best Value award. This is a great triumph for this innovative 5 cultivar Rhône style blend, one of winemaker, Wynand Grobler’s, favourite wines to make. It is a blend of 54% Shiraz, 13% Tannat, 12% Mourvèdre, 12% Cinsaut and 9% Grenache. Wynand describes this wine as being red fruit driven, juicy raspberry, mulberry aromas with hints of chocolate, layers of complex spice and red berry fruit which fill the entire mouth and leaves you interested with a lingering aftertaste. It has well integrated and seamless tannins which emphasize spice on the lengthy finish. This is a wine to drink now or in the next 7 years and is best paired with ostrich or beef carpaccio, duck, venison andrump steak with pepper sauce.
