The Spice Route Restaurant
Charles Back needs to write a book about becoming a success in the Western Cape food and wine industry.
We all then need to read it, carefully, from cover to cover.
He has shown how, through clever brand and product development, you can build world beating wine brands (the Goats do Roam range has been the top selling South African brand in the USA for over a decade).
You only have to think about the word Fairview and excellent cheeses come to mind.
His new Spice Route development is set to become another success, as he has designed it to become a lifestyle destination venue for this little stretch of the wine route near Paarl.
First, there’s the winery, with a range of gorgeous wines (Syrah, Pinotage, Mourvedre, Grenache, Chenin, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and a great Chakalaka blend). These are serious bottles of the good stuff, and are worth every penny.
