Winemaker`s Sunset Session with Dombeya
June’s theme for the Winemaker’s Sunset Session was: An evening of firsts.
To start the evening, the guests were welcomed with a delicious glass of our very own in-house MCC the Dombeya Blanc de Blanc.

After the introductions were made, the guests were guided to the cellar where future vintages of Haskell Vineyards and Dombeya Wines were sampled from the barrels: The Haskell Anvil Chardonnay 2011 and the Dombeya Merlot 2011
Back at the Long Table Restaurant, Chef Corli amazed us with her delicious heart warming cuisine, which included field mushrooms with Camembert and blueberry sauce, matched with the newly released and award winning Dombeya Altus 2007.
Main courses included slow roasted duck with black cherry gastrique, paired with the Haskell Anvil Chardonnay 2010 or the Chalmar Beef sirloin steak, accompanied with a glass of the unreleased Haskell Pillars Syrah 2010.
Desserts were also a decadent choice between the delightful Caramel pavlova with creamy caramel, topped with poached pears or the Creme brulee, matched with a 100% certified organic Cape Tawny from Upland Estate situated in Wellington.
