Wine is my passion, I am drawn to the whole world of vine growing, winemaking and of course the drinking part! Whilst the shift from banker to wine connoisseur hash’t been without its challenges, I am loving it! One of the best parts is that I get to meet people who had made the leap into winemaking, people who are also passionate about wine.

I had the pleasure of meeting one of these people, Roberto Bottega of Bottega Wines. His father Alberto Bottega started this project of winemaking back in 1997 as a hobby in South Africa. Roberto was working in the financial industry and since left to help his father building the family business. The Bottega Wines had grown into a successful business with its portfolio of wines: Idiom Collection, Enoteca Bottega, W Range, and Whalehaven.
