Rickety Bridge has Bastille Festival fever

The Franschhoek Wine Valley, South Africa’s leading wine and food destination, will once again be hosting the annual Bastille Festival over the weekend of the 14th and 15th July, where locals and visitors will be celebrating the Valley’s centuries-old French Huguenot heritage.

This town wide party is a “not-to-be-missed” event on the Franschhoek calendar, be there or be square. Rickety Bridge is getting into the festive spirit this year, by donning the red, white and blue and will be offering fantastic wine specials over the weekend. A special “French Inspired” cheese platter will be available all week long in the wine tasting centre. R70 gets you a delicious platter with Roquefort, bleu en blanc, crottin and brie accompanied by nuts, peaches and crackers.

You can also taste the Rickety Bridge wines in the Food and Wine Marquee as well as the very special Paulina’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 in the VIP Marquee. Special Rhône-Alpes and Franschhoek wine tastings will take place at Grande Provence all weekend long. The Rickety Bridge Shiraz will be included in Saturday’s line up.
