A Wicket Whisky from South Africa
Friday night saw the gala launch which celebrated the coming together of two iconic Cape brands. Joining forces are Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky, crafted at The James Sedgwick Distillery in the Boland town of Wellington, and proudly South African, and the Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras. The announcement was made only weeks after Paul Adams stepped in as head coach.

Marcel Swain, brand manager of Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky, believes that both brands will allow consumers and the trade an opportunity to experience the unique personality and flavors of the Cape.
Internationally acclaimed, Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky is South Africa’s first 100% single grain whiskey and makes a perfect fit with the current champions of the Domestic One-Day competition, the Nashua Mobile Cobras, who have 10 players representing South Africa. No wonder they are both local heroes considering that Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky has just achieved its third consecutive gold medal from the International Wine and Spirits Competition held in London. Combining the impact of the best of local grain with a unique double maturation creating a distinctive taste, it was just natural that they would team up with the cricket team who combines the best of the Western Cape and Boland.
“By creating a synergy between the local cricket talent and the craftsmanship of a locally produced premium whisky, the result can only provide exciting opportunities for both brands.”
Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky will be the preferred liquor offering at both the Newlands and Boland cricket suite, and this partnership will see the roll out of exciting joint national campaigns.
