Recent tastings of wines from California have highlighted the increase in quality wines that come from the area that are being imported into in Hong Kong.

Wines from California themselves are not new to the territory, they have been here for years, but now that local drinkers’ palates have evolved to the point where low quality wines are not accepted, local importers have began seeking out and bringing much higher quality wines to the consumer.

The mass produced, over fruity, beverage-like wines are being shunned for ones that are high quality, low production wines that are made with love and care as they appeal to the more discerning drinker who, after four years of drinking quality wines since the dropping of import duties have come to differentiate between a quality and a cheap mass production wine.
