Last Friday night the cellar yard was witness to a sizeable measure of Steenberg gees, in the form of a potjie shoot-out. Three teams, three pots, one final matching! Each pot was made by a different department, with Production, Marketing and the Bistro all locking horns in the pursuit of culinary perfection. The aim was to find the perfect potjie to pair with the yet-to-be-released Magna Carta MXX, for the upcoming Constantia Cape Wine event, to be held late September. All of the Constantia Valley farms will host a joint Potjie Evening in which they showcase their flagship wines paired with potjies to (lucky) international trade and journalists. We didn’t need more persuasion to have a braai after work!
